More specifically, the presentation will address the following topics: What is a trademark and a service mark How to search for trademarks How to select a strong trademark Whether and when to register a trademark Best practices in maintaining strong trademark rights Foreign trademark protection About the Presenter: Eric Waltmire Eric Waltmire is a registered patent attorney at the Erickson Law Group in Wheaton, where he handles matters in the areas of patents, trademarks, copyrights, licensing, trademark and brand protection strategy, and anti-counterfeiting strategy. Eric is the prior Editor-in-Chief of DuPage County Bar Association's legal journal, the DCBA Brief. He also is a member of the ISBA IP Section Council and has served as the chairman of the Internet & Computer Law Subcommittee. Before joining the Erickson Law Group, he was a staff attorney for the judges of the Eighteenth Circuit Court of Illinois.
