This is an introductory level class requiring very little technical knowledge using simple, non-technical language and examples. This class will provide the fundamentals for the factors you'll need to consider when building or launching a website. REGISTER FOR SESSION 1
Tuesday, March 1 @ 6:30p - Session 2
This session will focus on informational sites. These sites provide information to their visitors but do not sell anything. For many businesses this is all that's needed, for example, those in the service industry or professionals (lawyers, landscapers, marketers). Some will use this in conjunction with their e-commerce site to build out content. We'll discuss types of software available and how they function covering things like templates and plugins. We'll talk about how to do a needs analysis in order to determine what it is your site needs to do to meet your goals and how to convey this to a developer. Topics will also include website hosting needs as well as disaster planning and recovery. REGISTER FOR SESSION 2
Tuesday, March 15 @ 6:30p - Session 3 This session will be a round table format with a small group. It's best for you to have attended Session One or Session Two or to have a strong technical background. Topics will focus on building and running an e-commerce website. An introductory presentation on e-commerce will cover types of platforms available, hosting requirements as well as maintenance, disaster planning and recovery. We'll also discuss the importance of a thorough needs analysis prior to building your site or making changes. The remaining time will be used to discuss and answer questions about the specific details of building and running an ecommerce website. We'll cover different platforms available, best use of email, analytics integration and how to use it to make informed decisions. REGISTER FOR SESSION 3
